Vintage Folding Pockt Knife with Deer Medallion Handle for Christmas Day Gift

After all the hype I decided to try a couple Dispatch knives, including this model, even though I'm left handed and it's one of the few models that Dispatch makes that doesn't have a reversible carry clip. I figured if the clip became a nuisance I could just remove it altogether and keep it in my glove box.

By far my favorite knife I own. I collect mostly budget range knives, and this one by far stands out as the best. Most knives i have gotten, I immediately take it to the lansky sharpening system because i am not happy with the edge. Not the Dispatch. It came perfect as it was. Smooth opening, easy closing, deep carry pocket clip that is not too stiff, and classy wooden scales. What is not to like? In my mind, this knife bridges the gap between a nice "gentlemen's" knife, and a solid working mans knife. Dispatch Knives are for sure now on my radar, and I will certainly be getting more.

I was initially somewhat hesitant to buy a wooden scaled pocket folder, however I'm glad that I did. The feel of the handle scales, while not the most grippy, is quite nice in the hand. For tasks such as opening boxes or cutting fruit, the grip level is perfectly adequate. The looks and feel of the wood makes the knife feel so much nicer than the price point suggests. The blade is nice and sharp, the pocket clip is deep carrying, and the ball bearing pivot gives the knife a very precise and fast action.

I heard all the rants and raves about Dispatch. Figured id pick one up and worst case resell it. It's a keeper. I had been given a Praxis as a gift a couple years ago so I was already familiar with this brand. The only way this one could be better is if it had been a gift instead of buying it myself. ;) May have to order a few more as gifts.

Great presentation and packaging! The knife is beautiful with super smooth action. Quality craftsmanship. Although I just received the knife I can tell it is going to be one of my favorite EDC knives. I can't get over how sharp this knife is; both sharp looks and a sharp blade. I purchase a lot of knives (hundreds this year) and this is truly special.
And the seller's customer service is second to none. I received notice of delivery yesterday or the day before but the knife was not delivered. I notified the seller and they shipped one out immediately... I could not be more pleased with the value I received. Thank you!
Btw, I rarely leave a review but I simply had to as this knife is extraordinary for the price.
